How to see newness in the well-known?
This year, I’ve leaped across the vast new field of dance.
That’s why I chose to dive deeper into this horizon and to bath again into it, at Bassano del Grappa, for the B-motion festival and then, at Grenoble, for the Concentré de danse festival.
The idea was to set my mind ablaze and sharpen my writing to the daily life of those festivals. The performances – many in few days– let me drift…
I enjoyed being cradled by their stream, to drink a different dance and to meet their artists.
When it came to writing however, a strange feeling of dismanting.
So far I’ve had the curious mind that whatever stimulates, I’ve had the growing eyes that whatever delights, I’ve had the child’s lung that whatever fills. Every dance was re-creation.
But now, I witness my wanting to take the same way of the obvious critic, to venture initiate’s connection from my wobbly foundation and to light off my sensibility in ald of the concept.
How difficult it is to keep a fresh eye when it is warming up at the fire of the habit.
How ?
A few months ago, I gave birth to Lambda, a new character who would embody my discoveries onto the dance scene. He had been the support of my curiosity and the safe-conduct of my ignorance.
I chose to call in Lambda once again but to begin another relationship. He seems to draw me a new line to follow. The crutch passed at the other arm but the steps are equal : Between learning and ignoring, they progress on the fragile and suspended thread of simplicity.
Lambda discovers internet
After some chapters to tell the story of this character, an ordinary, young and curious man who discovers contemporary dance, I decided to create a blog in order to communicate about this project.
